How to start your first live stream

Use a stable device, clean background, front lighting and clear audio. Remove private documents and location clues.
Test network and devices
A stable upload connection matters more than a headline download speed. Close competing uploads and verify camera and microphone permissions.
Set topic, goal and moderation
Use accurate room text, realistic goals and available moderation controls.
Start and monitor the stream
Watch the preview, chat and connection indicator. Stop the session if an unapproved person enters or privacy is at risk.
Practical starting setup
Official guidance currently recommends a stable connection with roughly 4 Mbps upload and a computer with about 8 GB RAM for a comfortable browser stream. More demanding resolution, OBS scenes or multiple apps can require stronger hardware. Treat the broadcaster's current test result as the final check.
